Good evening my fellow bloggers :)
I have finally returned to the blogger world to update you family and friends that like to keep up on us Castaneda's. We've been pretty busy but the busy-ness has come to an end for the next 6 weeks as I'm off of work for the summer...YEAH!! I love working for the school district and being able to have the summer off!!
Today we took Diego to the dentist for his very first appointment. Diego did a fabulous job!! We were SO proud of him!! He allowed the dentist to look in his mouth and at all of his teeth! The dentist asked Diego "So...how many teeth do you think you have?" Diego responded with "All of 'em!" LOL!! Silly lil guy ;) After the dentist looked at his teeth the dental assistant took two x-ray pictures of his teeth...and once again he did FABULOUS!! Here are a couple pictures of Diego at the dentist...the first one is of him sitting in the chair right before they took the x-ray pictures...the second one is of him waiting in the waiting-room (he had to bring his paint brushes to the dentist!).
We spent the whole weekend in the pool at Poppa Huizz's house because it was just way to HOT to not be in the water!! Diego learned how to swim by himself with a life jacket on on Friday!! It was pretty cool & once again we were super proud of him. The only bummer is that he wouldn't let me take any good pictures :( He kept telling me "I'm swimming mommy...I'm going in circles...I can't smile cuz I'm doing cirlce" PUNK!
On June 16th we had Diego's 3 year appointment, my OB appointment and glucose test...so I was SO lucky to spend about 3/4 hours at Kaiser that afternoon...blah!!! My appointment went well, as did my glucose test. My doctor even said that I'm measuring on schedule...even though I feel HUGE and feel that I'm bigger than I should be! She said it's just because I'm carrying different from last time. And I think that my lil girl is just HUGE! I swear I wasn't this big last time ;) Diego's appointment went well...the only concern is his smallness!! The doctor recommended to get blood drawn to check his growth hormones and other stuff just to make sure nothing is wrong...which because Steve and I are not very tall ourselves, we're pretty sure everything is just fine. We still haven't heard anything back yet from the tests...but we'll keep you all posted. Here's a picture of Diego showing of his bandage from his blood test...he's actually smiling about it...but he was NOT smiling when they did the test :( I almost started crying with him :( He was SO brave though!! We ended up going straight to Toys-R-Us to get a prize for being so brave and eating at McDonalds for dinner. Yes...he's just a lil spoiled :)
Happy Father's Day DADDY!! Diego woke up on Father's Day and told Steve "Happy Father's Day Daddy...give me a father's day kiss!" :) We went to our favorite spot Plaza Del Sol for breakfast/lunch with Steve's dad, then we visited Grandpa Hector (Steve's mother's boyfriend), then we went home and took a nap while Steve ran and had baseball practice with my dad...then we went to Poppa Huizz's for a BBQ. It was a great day!! Here's a picture of our lil growing family on Father's day 2009♥
That's about it for now...I'm still doing great in school!! Just recieved another 100% in one of my classes. I actually have this week off of school (my college school) but start a new course on Monday the 6th. We get to go see our little girl tomorrow for a 3D ultrasound appointment :) Oh...I almost forgot...we finally picked a name MELILLA!! We are still discussing the middle name...so we'll keep you posted. Her name is a town in Spain and also a Hawaiian name, in hawaii they spell it Maliah but we like the Spanish spelling better. We actually picked this name 10 years ago when we saw it on a map of Spain...but we were just a little disappointed that the name has become more popular from ten years ago, and with Obama's daughter having that name too we weren't sure if it was going to become even more popular...but because we love it so much and can't find another name that we like better it's going to be Melilla. Plus... Diego says it so well and it's so cute when he says it AND my niece kept calling her Baby Charlette for some odd reason...so we HAD to make a decision so she didn't start thinking that her name was Charlette! LOL!!
Have a nice night...we'll put pictures of Melilla's 3D ultrasound from tomorrows appointment soon!!

It's a....
GIRL!!
We had our gender-session at the 3D ultrasound place yesterday to see what we were having and to our surprise it's a GIRL!! We have no names picked and NO girl stuff...we were SO sure that we were gonna have another boy! Boy were we WRONG :)
Here is a 3D preview of Baby Girl Castaneda....it may be hard for some of you to see but it's her head at the top (the mowhawk looking thing on top of her head is her soft spot) one of her arms is crossed up to her mouth. Diego is excited because since the first time that we told him that we were having a baby he said "I'm gonna have a seester" :) And NO we are not going to name her Dora ;) LOL!

The PINK Capital of Sacramento
On Thursday (Feb.19) I went to the Susan G Komen kick off for The Race For The Cure. It was just a small get together of cheerleaders performing "The Cure" cheer, the Top Fundraisers, Survivor stories, and prizes. :) And best of all they made the capital of Sacramento PINK!! :) It looked SO cool...I wish it could be PINK all the time...lol. Diego had lots of fun watching the cheerleaders and playing with the PINK glow sticks that they gave us.

My twins are here....finally!!!
I am so excited to announce to the world that my twin niece and nephew have finally arrived!! Jamie Brandon Huizar & Celise Teresa Huizar were born on February 15th, 2009. Although they were born at 38 weeks, it felt a lot longer than that waiting for them to join our family. They are perfectly perfect!! Jamie was born @ 10:14am weighing in at 5lbs 14oz and 18 inches long. Celise was born @ 10:21am weighing in at 6lbs 1oz and 18 inches long. It was a scary wait because Celise was breach and Andrea really really wanted to deliver both the babies naturally. Thanks to our "gaurdian angel" Grandma Teresa, Celise turned around all by herself and came right out with no problems!! Thank you Grandma for always being there for us, even though we can't see you or touch you, we know you are here making sure we are all safe and healthy! We miss you terribly! We hope you like Celise's middle name :)
Here is a picture of Celise taking her very 1st bath!! She was SO damn cute!! She loved it and didn't even cry. I absolutely love this picture that I took of her enjoying her bath!! She's so gonna love having SPA days with Tia Nikki :)
This is Jamie! He's totally waving to me (his favorite Tia!!) already!! Only an hour old and totally waving to me :)
I am super obessed with them already :) I can't stop looking at my pictures of them because I miss them already...I can't wait to go hold and snuggle with them!! Maybe tomorrow...I'm trying to not be a "pest" because I want to be over there 24/7 :)

Pee Pee in the Potty!!
I am SUPER excited to share with you all that Diego is finally POTTY TRAINED!!! I never thought it was actually going to happen! He started showing lots of interest when he was just about 2 years old...BUT...my son is a teeny tiny little guy and at the time there were NO "choonies" (undies, but we call them choonies in our house) that would fit that lil booty :) So...he finally gained some lbs and I was able to shrink 2T choonies to fit him this past summer...BUT....thanks to the last few teeth that he didn't have yet he ended up getting diarreah for almost 2 weeks :( So all my hard work that I had done for 2 weeks went right out the window! Damnit man!!
Then...I told my self that I was going to potty train him over Christmas break while I was off of work for 2 weeks...BUT...once again UNSUCCESSFUL!! Well...it's mostly my fault this time...instead of staying home and focusing on the potty training we were out and about the whole 2 weeks then towards the end of the break we all got really sick...so that was that...no potty training, once again!
Then...this weekend while I was snoozing away Diego was down stairs with my Momma and told her that he wanted to wear Buzz choonies (Buzz light year)...so they came up stairs and got the choonies. My mom was telling him how he was going to be a big boy like his cousin's and his friend Daniel (our neighbor). Diego was SO pleased to hear that he was going to be like Daniel that he kept those choonies on ALL weekend and had only 2 accidents in 3 days! YIPPIE!! I'm was getting SO tired of buying diapers!! Well...now I will get about 8 months free of diaper buying ;)
Diego is having fun being a big boy and showing anyone & everyone his big boy choonies! :)
YEAH DIEGO!! WE LOVE YOU BIG BOY!!

My, Oh My...
Happy New Year!! Yea, yea...I know I'm a month late for that saying but O'well!! Man....it's been a yucky beginning to 2009! I got an yucky cold starting on new year's eve, which I am STILL fighting!! Dammit!! I got that damn cold and then Diego got it...then Diego got the stomach flu for 11 days!! It was absolute HELL at my house for those 11 days!! My poor baby was SO sick and he is super tiny so he could not afford to lose the weight that he was losing :( He literally looked like those kids from Ethiopia that you see on the commercials! It was heartbreaking!
Well...we finally got over the flu and he got better and back to normal. The weird thing is that he didn't talk for like 2 days and then when he started to talk again it was like his vocabulary had grown enormously! So weird!
I have been keeping my straight A's going with school!! YIPPIE!! This Monday I started a new class, unfortunalty it's a communication class and has nothing to do with child development...so we shall see if I can keep up with my straight A's...keep your fingers crossed for me :)
Let's see...what else is going on since my last post?? My brother's twins should be here anyday now...I can't wait!!!! If she doesn't go into labor before February 14th (Valentine's Day) the doctors will be inducing her labor. Poor poor Andrea is SO miserable and uncomfortable :( I feel so bad for her!!
Budget cuts!! Man, oh man...this is SO scary!! It's so unbelievable how much money just the EGUSD has to cut!! They have to make $15 million cuts now, $24(ish)million for next school year 09/10, and $26(ish) million the following school year 10/11!! I can't believe it!! Over 200 people in the same position as me will lose their job! :( Luckily, I have a pretty secure spot because of being in severly handicapped classification but could be bumped if someone else in the district loses their position and has more seniority over me. The good thing is that they have to have the same classification as me and there aren't too many SH classifications out there, there are more mild/moderate classifications within the district. Unfortanatley, Project RIDE wasn't so lucky in the proposed cuts for next year :( The district is planning to cut $90,000 from them...which will deeply affect us because our student's ride the horses once a week all year long!! I just hope something can change and fix these problems!! I'll keep praying!
Last but not LEAST, my newest news for the year is that Steve, Diego and I are expecting a new addition to our family!! Our new addition should be arriving sometime in September...I'm only 6 weeks and 5 days prego...still very early. I have been sicker than a dog!! And just want to naseasness to GO AWAY!! Diego asked me if I had Buzz Light Year in my tummy the other night...too funny! :)
